Biography

Robert M. Greenbaum joined Karalis PC in January 2023 as “of counsel” bringing with him a vast knowledge and experience in the areas of corporate restructuring, Chapter 11 reorganization, general debtor-creditors rights, and bankruptcy litigation that’s been developed over more than 35 years of practice.

In Rob’s broad commercial practice, he has represented all constituencies in corporate restructurings and insolvencies both in and out of Chapter 11 and Chapter 7, including debtors, unsecured creditors’ committees, trustees, secured creditors, trade creditors, landlords, equipment lessors, reclamation creditors, insurance companies, and equity security holders, as well as acquirers of troubled businesses.

Rob’s practice includes, in large part, counseling debtors through Chapter 11 proceedings and/or out-of-court workouts, advising unsecured creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 proceedings, representing litigants in a variety of bankruptcy litigation matters, including Chapter 5 avoidance actions, and representing debtors and trustees in complex Chapter 7 cases. His case representations cover a variety of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, real estate, apparel, utilities, legal, transportation, construction, railroad and shipping, among others.

Rob has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Pennsylvania for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization and for Bankruptcy Litigation from 2009 through 2024, has been designated as a Super Lawyer in Pennsylvania for Business Bankruptcy from 2005 to 2007 and 2020 through 2024 and holds an AV® peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest level of professional excellence. Rob is a past president and a current Board member of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project (CBAP), a pre-eminent pro bono provider of bankruptcy services for the indigent of Philadelphia, PA, and a member of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference.
